March is going to be a huge month for the Jeep brand.

Though the automaker stayed fairly quiet at the recent Geneva Motor Show, that surely won't be the case over the coming weeks. The Jeep brand's global chief, Mike Manly, and CEO of FCA Marchionne confirmed recently that a Jeep pickup truck model, based on the bones of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler, would be moving into production before the end of their current global sales plan.

Top dogs at Jeep and FIAT Chrysler Automobiles were stubbornly silent about any specific details on the future Wrangler pickup truck, so we don't currently have concrete information for those in Aurora, Batesville IN, Oakbrook KY, and Cincinnati who--like us--have been dreaming about this day for year.

But between the upcoming New York International Auto Show and the 2016 Moab Easter Jeep Safari, we're hoping to see an in-the-metal look at the new Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck; especially since the safari looks to be debuting multiple concept truck models at its Utah retreat. Check it out.

There's quite a bit of debate surrounding the future release of a Jeep pickup truck model; though the company has confirmed that Wrangler models and their truck counterparts will both be built in the same Toledo factory, some argue that Jeep will create a new platform for the vehicle. However, since Jeep Wrangler 4x4s have been converted into truck-bed models for years, like the Scrambler and the Brute, we believe that its platform will be more than adequate for the all-new vehicle.

As one of the most commonly customized vehicles in the world (and one of the most converted/revamped vehicles, too) the iconic Jeep Wrangler has been living on in many forms since its inception decades ago. And we're certain that the pickup truck model will only do its namesake proud.
